Singapore Changi Airport has made traveling with young children a breeze, with the launch of a new Family Zone today. Located at Terminal 2’s Departure/Transit Mall, the Family Zone has a whole range of facilities that not only meet the needs of parents with kids in tow, but also offers facilities to keep the young ones entertained.

The Family Zone is set up as a one-stop point for parents with young children and combines the functions of Changi Airport’s existing parents’ rooms with the aesthetics features of a cozy area. Facilities in the integrated room include nursing rooms, diaper-changing stations and a washing area. There is even a play pen for toddlers and a comfortable corner for parents and their children to watch cartoons.

The Family Zone was launched by Mr Wong Woon Liong, Director-General of Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) this afternoon. Also at the launch event were more than 30 children from the education centre, Learning Vision. A professional story teller entertained the children with stories from six local children’s book authors, all of which were present at the launch. In addition, the children tried their hands at a special hand-painting and glitter tattoo session and took part in a jigsaw puzzle contest.

Mr Wong said, “Traveling with young children can be a challenge. At Changi Airport, we aim to provide a full range of services and facilities for all travelers, including the little ones. This new Family Zone further enhances the travel experience for families with young children with improved and integrated facilities, offering convenience. We hope this will make their Changi Experience a unique and enjoyable one.”

Other family-oriented facilities at Changi Airport include parents’ rooms in all terminals and dedicated play areas with televisions showing cartoons.
