“The global crisis led to the re-orientation of lines of tourists travel long-distance (long haul) to the medium and short range (medium and short haul trip), a decreased level of spending and length of stay and number of trips of tourists who travel abroad because they prefer travel within the country, “said Wardiyatmo, Secretary General Depbudpar, after opening” Workshop on Improving Understanding of Culture and Tourism Division of Journalists and the Press “hosted by the Center for Information and Public Relations (Pusformas) Depbudpar in Building Seven Charm Jakarta, Friday (23/10).

Year 2010 Depbudpar with tourism stakeholders have agreed to raise the target of foreign tourists visiting (tourists) from 6.5 million this year, to 7 million foreign tourists. The increase is among other targets after considering the condition of the achievements this year 6.5 million foreign tourists or to grow about 1% -2% from the year 2008 for 6.4 million tourists with foreign exchange gain of U.S. $ 7.3 billion.
