Minister of Culture and Tourism (Menbudpar) Ir. Jero Wacik, SE asked members of Commission X-RI period (2009-2014) joined to propose and oversee their villages to be designated as rural tourism in the National Community Empowerment Program (PNPM) Tourism Destinations – a become one of the 100-day work program of United Indonesia Cabinet (KiB) II field of Culture and Tourism (Budpar).
“We are offering the 48 members of the Commission X join their villages proposed in each electoral district (Dapil) to serve as a tourist village. After that we, the government (Depbudpar-Red) with members of Commission X, jointly oversee the implementation of rural development tourism, “said Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik in a working meeting with Commission X on Parliament RI Jakarta, Wednesday (25/11).
In the meeting led by Commission Chairman Prof. X. Dr.H.Mahyuddin, NS, Sp.OG Menbudpar states that, development of rural tourism became one of 100-day program Depbudpar the performance contract with the President.
Depbudpar has received proposals from various regions of potential villages to be developed as tourist villages, the proposal is then selected and assigned as many as 104 villages in the area will be developed as tourist villages through PNPM tourism destinations.
In implementing these programs also took Depbudpar relevant agencies of the Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare and Local Government of Regency/Municipality to realize that goal. “Tourism village development program has been running 2 years, and last year percontohannya project was done in 10 villages,” he said.
Village tourism, according to Menbudpar, in addition to the empowerment of rural communities in line with the development of agrotourism and ecotourism are scattered in various tourism destinations in the country and attracted many tourists. (Pusformas)
