Directorate General of Tourism Destination Development (DG PDP) Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Kemenbudpar) is developing a special interest tours to dive the potential spread in almost all parts of Indonesia.
“Diving tourism potential to develop in order to keep us competitive globally, for the DG 2008 is the year to start with developing PDP Data Base Spot Diving Indonesia. Data base (database dive spot) m continues to be developed until the year 2014 and will be a complete source of information in order to attract tourist visit to Indonesia diving world, “said Director General of the PDP Kemenbudpar Rahim Vishwanathan after the launch of Data Base Spot Menbudpar Diving Indonesia by Ir. Jero Wacik, SE in the Hall Building Sapta Enchantment Jakarta, Wednesday (30/12).
According to Rahim Firmasnyah, Indonesia has 600 more dive spots in 35 locations spread from Sabang (Aceh) to the Raja Ampat (Papua). However, this time already mapped by the Directorate General of the PDP 200 dive spots in 11 locations namely; Sabang, Padang, Anambas, Thousand Islands, Karimunjawa, Bali, Derawan, Sanghihe, Alor, Komodo, and Ambon.
These mapping data presented in the database dive spot that also contain specific information such as current conditions, temperature, bottom composition, potential hazards to watch for divers, the suitability level of experience and ability of individual divers, underwater map diving spot, and diving operators in the ground water.
Indonesia has the potential to develop themselves as tourist destinations diving world, because 2/3 region with a long sea coastline reach 81,000 km and has a very diverse biodiversity including 1114 species of fish. In addition Indonesia also has 600 more dive spots in 35 locations spread from Sabang (Aceh) to the Raja Ampat (Papua). So that Indonesia is known as a dive destination is the world’s largest spot.
