Anticipating the holiday season in 2561 Lunar New Year which will take place mid-February 2010, several airlines including SilkAir subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA) set up additional flights to several cities in Southeast Asia.

According to Vice President Commercial SilkAir Alvin Seah, additional flights are aimed at improving customer convenience to return home in time to celebrate the lunar new year or a long vacation, which is also in conjunction with Valentine’s Day.

“We observed that there is a significant increase in demand for air travel during Chinese New Year celebration which will fall on 14 and 15 February this year,” Alvin explained in his press conference, Tuesday (26/1).

This additional flight will be conducted before and after the Lunar new year. Since January 11 to February 20, 2010, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines will provide additional flights to five destinations, namely Kuching, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Chongqing, and Phuket. (Pusformas)
