Bali is Secure and in the Phase 1 Alert. Such was the statement of the Chief of Bali Police Department, Inspector General Pol. T. Ashikin Huesein following the bomb tragedy occurred in Jakarta, Friday (17/7). Meanwhile, Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika appealed the community not to be panic.
“Though the bombing incident occurred far away from Bali, Bali should remain alert all the times,” affirmed the Chief of Bali Police. “I assure that Bali is in secure condition. However, we may not be neglectful and should be always attentive.”
For that purpose, this one-star officer has taken prompt measure to anticipate the security at critical points such as at tourist resorts (Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua, Sanur and Ubud) and extra tight custodial cares at main entrance gates to Bali like the Ngurah Rai Airport, Padangbai Harbor, Gilimanuk Harbor and Celukan Bawang Harbor.
In the meantime, Governor Pastika reminded that we need not to be panic in responding the situation, but remained vigilant to suspicious matters. Related to the impact of bomb tragedy in Jakarta, Governor has not been certain that it would have an impact on the currents of tourist visit to Bali. “There has no indication yet regarding to the exodus of foreign tourists at the Ngurah Rai Airport. We assure that all apparatus and Balinese community will keep the condition secure and convenient to visitors. Should there be any efforts to achieve security and on site inspection performed by the officers, we expect the community could acknowledge it and do not give immoderate response.
